Mount Shasta Residential Retreat Residential weekend retreats provide a rare opportunity to pursue self-discovery and personal and spiritual renewal buoyed by Emily’s teachings and one-on-one guidance, all in a beautiful natural setting that nurtures and supports our collective pursuit of honesty, surrender, and stillness. The support of the group sessions, coupled with the retreat setting, serve to inspire a courage, honesty, and openness that allow Emily's guidance to penetrate our hearts and minds with new depth and clarity. In between sessions with Emily, there will be ample opportunity to explore the lovely surroundings, as well as shared meals and an open meditation space for your personal spiritual practice.
A 4-Day Program with Emily Carson
Emily offers a unique opportunity to meet with her successively over several days for a deepening into the teachings only possible through an extended program conducted in an environment of wellness, natural beauty, and personal authenticity. The four small-group sessions with Emily will include a combination of meditative talks, discussion, and facilitated self-investigation, and will focus on guiding each participant toward an internal realignment with that which is hopeful, wise, and life-affirming.
Believed by many to be sacred, Mount Shasta in northern California exudes a palpable energy that draws seekers captured by the mountain's power and presence. The stunning 14,179 foot peak presides over crystal clear lakes and streams, alpine meadows, and rain-shadow forests that give way to high-desert expanses. Our private retreat land gives us a taste of this gorgeous scenery, but we will also make time for an off-site excursion to take in the area's natural wonders.
Stone Hill Villa
This luxury home where we will lodge and meet is located just a mile from downtown Mount Shasta. Surrounded by porches, with views of Mount Shasta and Black Butte from throughout the property, the home provides a nourishing environment which deeply enhances the retreat experience. Easy access to town for yoga classes and massage and spa treatments. Rooms are double-occupancy.
Organic Catered Meals
Eating well is part of our goal of wellness and renewal. Our caterers will serve fresh, organic produce; free-range and hormone-free meats and eggs; whole grains; and sumptuous desserts at delicious community meals throughout the weekend, in addition to snacks, coffee, tea, and juice. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options will be available, with an emphasis on whole foods that are wheat- and dairy-free. With a small group like ours, special dietary needs are easily accommodated.

"The words that come to me about the Mt. Shasta retreat are 'nourishment' and 'space'. You are literally fed everywhere you turn: by the bountiful and wholly delicious food, the natural surroundings and perfect coziness of the retreat center, the presence of the mountain, and the sittings with Emily in the restorative atmosphere of well-being that all this creates. Her talks there have been transforming for me; it's as though their truth penetrates and can be absorbed all the more deeply in the spaciousness of that slowed-down time and by the space that opens, internally, in longing for it."
"I love the sound of the creek that runs through Flowing Waters Retreat Center. It is a constant reminder to let go and relax and just be simply amazed at the beauty of the surrounding forest, the little chipmunks, and the majesty of Mt. Shasta. The Mt. Shasta retreat is my time to step away from my busy day-to-day activities and exchange all that for deep rest, long, refreshing and invigorating walks, and quieting of my mind."
"I have been so fortunate to find myself in silence and observe myself in the presence of Emily Carson. Her quiet, meaningful intensity and valuable insight have truly helped me to face challenges I've struggled to meet alone. The gift of the Mt. Shasta retreat coupled with the amazing landscape and local vibrancy of the Mt. Shasta area have been life changing. I am deeply grateful to Emily and would recommend the Shasta Retreat to anyone who longs to find more meaning and honesty to bring to the path of their everyday life."
