Meditation is as personal to each of us as the face of our own aspiration: we sit to find what is truest inside us, to enter the current of our own stillness, to inquire into our essential nature, and to ask for help and guidance. Though each practice is unique, we are united by a shared longing for the transformative power of stopping, and of silence. We invite you to join Emily Carson in attending a Daylong or Weekend Silent Meditation Retreat for a rich and nourishing experience of that meditative practice that most feeds you.
In this prolonged period of silence, held often in a lovely natural setting, we set aside all communication and external distraction and allow the meditation bell alone to guide us. The retreat unfolds though a series of 20-40 minute sitting periods, with short breaks for walking and stretching, as well as one longer meal period each day. Our silence is suspended only for the one session in which Emily helps each retreatant deepen into the full potential of his or her individual practice.
Silent Meditation Retreats are designed for longtime meditators as well as those new to this practice of stopping.
